X-Faktor is the Hungarian version of The X Factor, a show originating from the United Kingdom. It is a television music talent show contested by aspiring pop singers drawn from public auditions. The show premiered in 2010 and it continues its success nowadays in the Fourth series. The original judging panel was Feró Nagy, Miklós Malek, Ildikó Keresztes and Péter Geszti. Róbert Szikora, Gabi Tóth and Róbert Alföldi joined the judging panel in the Fourth series replacing Feró Nagy, Miklós Malek and Ildikó Keresztes, who left the show after the Third series, due to career commitments. The show was originally hosted by Balázs Sebestyén and Nóra Ördög. Sebestyén left the show after the First series due to other work commitments for Rtl Klub. Nóra Ördög herself presented the show in the Second and the Third series. In 2013 she also left X-Faktor due to her pregnancy. Since 2013, the show has been presented by Lilu and Bence Istenes, who replaced original host Nóra Ördög. There have been three winners of the show to date: Csaba Vastag, Tibor Kocsis and Gergő Oláh.

Fortysomething is a 2003 British comedy-drama series, starring and directed by Hugh Laurie as Paul Slippery, a doctor facing a mid-life crisis. His wife Estelle is starting a new career as a headhunter. His three sons, Rory, a student at the fictitious University of Reigate, Daniel and Edwin, are sex-obsessed. Meanwhile, Paul appears to hear the inner thoughts of others. Other important characters include Paul's colleague and nemesis, Dr. Ronnie Pilfrey, and Estelle's new employer, Gwendolen Hartley. The series was written by Nigel Williams based on his 1999 novel of the same name. The six episodes of the series were broadcast on ITV. Although a ratings failure on first transmission, leading to it being moved to an off-peak timeslot midway through the run, the appearance of several actors who went on to greater fame has subsequently led the series to sell well on DVD.

X Factor replaced the highly successful Idols, which was put on indefinite hiatus after its third and fourth series. In the initial televised audition phase of the show, contestants sing in front of the X Factor judges in the hope of getting through to the "boot camp". After a further selection process, the judges are each given a category to mentor and the chosen finalists then progress to the second phase of the competition in which the public vote on live performances. The current judges are: Pop Singer and Television host Gordon Heuckeroth, former Dolly Dots member Angela Groothuizen, Rapper Ali Bouali and Alto Saxophonist Candy Dulfer. The first series of X Factor began in October 2006 and ran to February 2007. It was not as popular as Idols. It was won by Sharon Kips. The second series, running from January to May 2009, was more successful. It was won by Lisa Hordijk. The third series was won by Jaap van Reesema. Rochelle Perts won the fourth series. Station X was an animated/live-action series that aired on both the English and French channels of Teletoon. The show revolved around six young media-savvy people, in their late teens to early twenties, all living in a loft in Montreal, Canada. Station X was created by Quebec-based film producer Cité-Amérique, now part of FRV Media. Episodes were produced in English and dubbed to produce the corresponding French episodes, although text that appeared on the screen was in French, such as the election posters in "Power".
